i still haven't seen new moon despite having been in possession of it since the weekend it came out.  discuss. 

Both of these retailers are going to be selling "special editions" of New Moon tomorrow. Does anyone know which one has the most/best extras??

Last year I bought the DVD at Walmart, but quickly returned it after I got home and saw the Target circular advertising the DVD with extras that Walmart didn't have. Don't want to have to do that again if I can avoid it!!

I've learned in the past that you have something on pre-order which is released on a Monday, Amazon UK send it out a little early so when if Royal Mail are slow to deliver, it still arrives on time.  This means a lot of my pre-orders arrive on the Saturday before the release date instead.

However, this is a first!

I think I know how I'll be spending my day...

 So, as I sit here on the couch chatting with you fine folks here in the Forest, my husband and his two best friends are torturing me by watching the movie "Ninja Assassin."

I have no idea why I didn't save it or what happened.

Basically Edward is some recluse science researcher in Forks and his twin Alice is his estate manager and her husband Jasper recruits for him..Bella being a girl he recruits (the story started with Jasper watching Bella go off on Mike at the lab she had currently worked at). She comes to work/live there, but in the mean time someone is sorta after the research going on there. I can not remember for the life of me what this is called.

is it a necessary (one coffee two sugars that's how you spell it :] ) requirement of fanfiction for it to be full of sex? because it's kinda disgusting when i'm reading something and then it's all, he put his hands WHERE? and i have to backtrack to the cbeebies website where i belong.

it grates my cheese. no matter what contest you enter the winner will always be a lemon no matter how hard you try. it makes this whole fandom inaccesable for us younglings methinks. even if you don't know your alphabet, as long as you can describe hows your father cherry popping, you will get vomit loads of reviews. makes me want to hit something.

Here's a random thought - if nothing can kill a vampire except another vampire or a werewolf (and they seem to be very rare) - why do the vampires in the Twilight Saga hide themselves away from humans?  More specifically, why have the Volturi created the rule that prevents vampires from exposing themselves to humans?

In other stories involving supernatural creatures, there's usually a very good reason for remaining secret - survival.  Vampires usually have some kind of crucial weakness, like an allergy to silver or wood, and there are far fewer of them than there are humans.  This means if they are exposed, we humans would just gang up and slaughter them all using whatever method would be most effective.

However, this doesn't apply in Twilight.  Even if humans knew about the vampires, we couldn't do anything about it, short of constructing a super-weapon to kill them all (and it would be easy enough to kill all scientists capable of building such a weapon).  Even fifty to one, the vampires would slaughter us.

So why oh why are they all living in secret, and why haven't any of them decided to take over the world?  

...Or did I just expose a big plot hole?

The campfire about EPOV kinda (sorta) inspired me.

I've noticed something more and more often in the stories I read; sometimes, while reading in BPOV (for example), the author randomly starts putting Edward's POV as well for some unknown reason.

I get the change of POV when it's necessary (because the narrator's in a coma or asleep or whatever), or when it genuinely brings something to the story. I totally understand that. I like that.

What really pisses me off (not enough to flounce if the story is good, but enough to make me think "fuuuuck no. Not again!") is when you read something from one POV, and the character (let's stay with the Bella example) is kinda confused and has no idea why [insert character name here] is acting like a total moron/douchebag/crazy person and just when the mystery starts getting really good... You have [insert character name here]'POV. IT JUST RUINS EVERYTHING! I don't wanna know what [insert character name here] is thinking and why he/she's saying cryptic little things that make no sense! I want to agonize over it with Bella, I wanna make silly theories too! Now when the author gets back to BPOV and Bella is still wondering what the hell is going on, I'll just think "meh. Come on, figure it out already". And instead of being all excited and tingly over a story, I'm annoyed at the narrator. See? NOT good.

And I just have to say this: more than two changes of POV in a single chapter? Whiplash, people. If I get all confused and have to scroll back up thinking "whose head am I in again?" it just ruins the chapter.

Pfiou. Rant over. Sorry. I by no means mean to disrespect authors who like to change their narrator (because sometimes, really, it's useful) but I just wanted to know: Am I just the crazy lady who likes to yell at nothing? Do you dig change of POVs? Do they annoy you too?

Come on. Let me hear ya, campers. Inquiring mind wants to know.

PS: just something before someone brings it up: I love companion pieces. Really. But I feels like that's what they should be. A companion. Or several "outtakes". Sometimes the fact that the companion piece is posted in the same story as the original one is not annoying (like in Expectations of Success by LASMKE) but sometimes it would be sooooo much better if it was in a story of its own. I'm not giving examples because I'm nice (I know. Shocker)

personally, mine are the sex scenes or the ones filled with UST.  But that's just me.

How crazy was this new chapter. It was like something out of an action movie.
