Is it still the FFA?

Friday February 12, 2010 at 10:08 PM

Okay, so on my date tonight with this guy I've been seeing, he told me he had a surprise and walked over to his ipod on turned on Taylor Swift's Time Mcgraw. Then he said, "I heard you've always wanted to dance to this song." (apparently my best friend told him). So he and I danced in his room in the dark to Tim Mcgraw. For me, the moment was just so sweet and perfect.

So, in honor of Valentine's Day (which honestly I can't stand-- but whatever) tell me about your cutest date or the sweetest thing a guy ever did for you.

Why 'Twilight' Fans Might Enjoy What 'The Wolfman' Has To Offer

Universal Pictures' revival of "The Wolfman" was unleashed into theaters everywhere today, and while the Benicio Del Toro-starring film is geared towards horror fans and monster movie enthusiasts, it might appeal to another unexpected crowd… "Twilight" fans.

Now, I'm not suggesting that "The Wolfman" is a teenage romance, nor is it necessarily appropriate for the younger viewers that flocked to "New Moon" in droves. What I am saying, however, is that there are certain aspects about the new thriller that could tickle the fancy of Team Jacob members everywhere.

For starters, this is a movie about werewolves. There are some important differences between the werewolves in "The Wolfman" and the shape-shifting creatures of "The Twilight Saga," such as the former's tendency to brutally eviscerate their victims and the latter's knack for looking really, really good without a shirt. But if part of your "Twilight" craving stems from your interest in werewolves, this is the flick for you.

There's also forbidden romance. Benico Del Toro plays Lawrence Talbot, a man who returns home after learning that his brother Ben was viciously killed. He harbors romantic feelings towards Ben's widow, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), but can't act on his impulses out of respect to his deceased sibling. I don't think Edward's presence ever truly stopped Jacob from feeling for Bella, but as fans of the novel series are already aware, Jacob doesn't get the girl. Likewise, Lawrence can't seal the deal with Gwen. Bummer.

But Gwen herself is a big draw for "Twilight" fans. Played by Emily Blunt, she offers viewers with a Bella Swan analogue, except this woman is willing to roll up her sleeves and pick up a gun when she needs to. She's something of a mixture between Bella and Sarah Connor, except not quite that innocent and not quite that badass. But it's close enough.

Finally, there's Del Toro himself. Sure, he's 42 years old and sure, Taylor Lautner is a newly minted 18 year old – "Twilight" fans aren't going to look at that as an upgrade – but if you look at BDT from the right angle, he kinda looks like Lautner plus 24 years. Look hard, you'll see it.

No? Maybe not?

So maybe the similarities between these two movies aren't quite as strong as I initially envisioned. Regardless, "The Wolfman" is still something that "Twilight" fans should consider sinking their teeth into to satisfy that monster craving. Assuming said fans are old enough to get into R-rated movies, of course.

Is it just me

or do the Details Mag shots make him look gay...?  Talk to me about this.  I am SERIOUSLY beginning to think he is gay.  He looks completely disinterested in the photos.  I know that is what it is supposed to be...but, its kinda scary to me.

blech.  I don't know anything about artistic symbolism and abstract thought through art.

I bring you THE TRUTH ..because i'm drunk

Friday February 12, 2010 at 9:27 PM

Oh Hai Campers!
I've been gone all day and upon my return to my home on the interwebz, a few things caught my attention.
I want to be the FIRST to welcome to the forest, our NEW RANGER...
EDWARD CULLEN!!
am I the only one who saw him lurking among the bushes?  shame on you, campers...
He deserves a proper hello.

YO EDWARD! I SENT YOU A PM AND I EXPECT A RESPONSE!!

nExt on the agenda...

I need to bring attention to a certain issue I am having with a certain... man

Campers, I am being stalked.

He's clever though, this one.  He's sneaky.  I suppose, due to my marital status, he considers this to be discretion.

But I call is SUBLIMINAL SEDUCTION.

Yes, he wants me.  the writing is on the wall.

Who, you ask?

none other than... ROBERT PATTINSON

I have proof...

So there's no denying that over the course of the past few months, Dear Robert and I have had a few encounters.  (you all know what i'm talking about)
Now he is using the media to demonstrate his affection...no, his OBSESSION with me.

Exhibit a:
he's looking right at me~~

Exhibit b:
he's looking at the lady's boobies.
I have boobies.
He's practically looking at MY boobies! (it's a conspiracy..and mine are better)

Exhibit c:
...and this is just so painfully obvious..
Really Robert, you can be more craetive than this...

She's holding a camera.
I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER.

gah it's so obvious

HE WANTS ME.  He's calling me out.

Well I've got your number, Pattinson.

ALSO NOTE....the lady had a back roll. jandco and i are totally down with that...it's not bad.  but it points to ONE THING....

Rob don't want no skinny bitch

he wants a WOMAN

don't you see?

not just ANY woman

a GROWN ASS WOMAN

So my message to ROBERT IS THIS:

Bring it, Pretty Boy.

No need for the weak attempts at getting my attention.

YOU HAVE IT....I'M A SURE THING....COME GET IT!!

***

thsnk you, and good night

Smallville Hottie

Friday February 12, 2010 at 8:16 PM

Hi Everyone,

This is my first Campfire!

I flounced Smallville due to crappy writing (except for a couple of episodes written by Geoff Johns), but I came across it tonight and stayed for a minute. I know HMonster fancies Tom Welling, as do I, but that show has another handsome hero: the Green Arrow.

This is Justin Hartley, The Green Arrow and One-time Aquaman:

The CW/WB didn't pick up Aquaman, but you can find the pilot on Itunes. It's worth checking out.

I still prefer Rob, but hey...

(here goes nothing... *clicks start campfire*)

RPattz talks hot,steamy sex scenes

Friday February 12, 2010 at 7:47 PM

Robert Pattinson was nervous about his sex scenes with Uma Thurman in new movie 'Bel Ami'.

The hunky 'Twilight' actor gets hot and steamy with the screen beauty in the film - in which he plays Parisian journalist Georges Duroy - but insists it was far from erotic because of the movie's plot.

He said: "The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing.

"Her character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I'm asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well."

The movie is a big screen adaptation of French author Guy de Maupassant's 19th Century novel 'Bel Ami' in which ambitious young Georges sleeps his way to the top.

 ....

Uh, Rob, baby... I don't think you could ever put too many sex scenes in a movie for me. *faints*

What is your vocation?

Friday February 12, 2010 at 6:41 PM

What do you do? School? Mommy or Daddy? Career track? What was/is your dream job growing up? Are you happy with where you are? What would you change?

I need inspiration right now. I want to hear stories of ass kicking individuals in this forest. I want to know that there are people following their dreams and achieving their goals!

I'm aware that this is a bit too "girl power" for some. Give me a break though, I can't be cynical all the damn time.

Cry because of a song every single time?

Friday February 12, 2010 at 3:47 PM

Did you ever cry because of a song.Of course you get touched and stuff but I have to cry really every single time when I hear Ruby's Arms from Tom Waits.I can remember exactly when I heard it the first time, I was in the car of my dad and driving god knows where and then I just started crying ,not the heavy sobs just you know tear by tear, the kind of crying you just recognize when someone tolds you or you touch your face, like it has touched your heart so fast that your mind couldn't follow...and he was just like: "Crap!Did I say something or what should I do...call your mum?!...Well he kind of freaked out. He really cannot handle situations like that..at that time I didn't know about Twilight but now I have to say that it reminds me of Charlie :)

and know you might be thinking she heard the song so many times and she has to be used to it but..noooo the same reaction every time...

am I crazy?Imean I know I am weird maybe :)

so tell me about your experiences with the songs which made you burst out into tears?a special story to them?

My Free-For-All Rant

Friday February 12, 2010 at 3:28 PM

My Free-For-All Friday is not a happy one.

I am all emotional and in pain from well, you know, and I am imming with my twife who thinks she's channeling me and wants to die to. (pun intended). Except I'm channeling her pain because she's on the East end of the country and I am in the West.

I love the Winter Olympics.  Always has been my favorite. I was looking forward to the Opening Ceremonies tonight, and just got this in my box.

I have seen the photos (which I will not post out of respect for the family, etc.)

So My thoughts are with the family and all of the athletes.

Do any of you watch the Olympics? Do think  that the scientific and technological advances in equipment and track design have helped or hindered sports in general?

Article link inside (No graphic photos)

So Kake and I really want Joe and Jess to make us feel better.

~End of Emotional Rant~

A 9.875 on the Random-Meter...

Friday February 12, 2010 at 3:26 PM

Jamiaica or Costa Rica?

I'm spending part of my summer volunteering (and before you attempt to heap false praise on my head, I only volunteer in coastal regions with tropical temps. that allow scuba diving, beach time, and lots of rum on the weekends)  and I've narrowed it down to slightly outside of Kingston Jamaica, or Liberia, Costa Rica.

So what I wanna know is:  have you been to either?  What are the urban areas like?  How difficult is the language barrier if I speak neither Patois or Spanish well?  How hard is it to deal with the currency?  Are the people friendly?  How about the food?  The water?  Public transportation?

What's there to do for fun?

I'm a frequent traveller, but up until now I haven't made it to Central America or The Carribean, so I'm why opened to suggestions!   And if you haven't been to either, tell my why you would pick one over the other in theory!
