~Want something really different and very tastefully done? Check out this short story by one of my fav authors, theladyingrey! After almost 45 years of marriage, Bella finds her dear Jacob pinned underneath his dear VW Rabbit with just his legs sticking out. The car's collapse killed him, which nearly killed Bella. She went almost catatonic - not getting out of bed - not eating or drinking, until finally, her daughter Carly placed her in an assisted living facility a few hours away. She still just continues to go through the motions to get through each day, dragging her tired old body around. She likes to end each day outside under her tree, having a smoke. One day, someone is sharing her space. He is a stately gentleman with hints of red still visible in his silver hair. They share a quiet smoke, and after several nights, begin to speak and become friends. This is such a tender, sweet story. In a PM (back in the day), theladyingrey told me Vanessa Redgrave (lately in Letters to Juliet), who is absolutely beautiful for her age, was part of her inspiration for this story. We will all get there one day, Lord willing! I'd like to think that each of us would want someone like this Edward to hold and love in the twilight years.

~*ahem* Forbidden romance here...We have a younger Edward being attracted to and pursuing an older Bella. The pull between them transcends time, space and dimension even though the age difference is something that looms over Bella every chapter. I guess I had to turn it around and remember that a much older – in terms of existence- Edward was unequivocally attracted to and loved 17 year old Bella in Twilight. Past that, the banter is witty and clever. Edward is so intellectual but Bella can snark right back, hysterical and oh, so sexy. This was one of the original classics from early on.
