Do you prefer angst or fluff fics?  Have we had too much angst lately?  Is there even such thing as too much angst?  Idk.  The bottom line is this:  I wanna write a new fic and I don't know if I should go fluff or angst.  Someone tell me what to pick.  Also, which do you prefer:

There are many Twilight fics out there where Bella is portrayed as weakling dependent upon Edward. Tonight I was reading a fic that has always been my favorite, mainly because Bella is portrayed as a strong, resourceful woman who doesn't blush at the drop of a dime, trip over flat surfaces, or cries every five minutes. But, after reading the latest chapter I find myself annoyed because in a way I feel the author has made Bella overly independent to the point where it's downright annoying. I'm all for reading about some woman power and all but not to the point where I'm wondering if the chick is packing a peen and wearing a superhero cape under her Gucci dress. I refuse to flounce the fic beause it wouldn't be fair to the author.

So, my question is HAVE YOU EVER READ A FIC WHERE SOMETHING YOU LOVED ABOUT ONE OF THE CHARACTERS SUDDENLY TURNS YOU OFF?

I feel as if I should edit this and say that in NO WAY IS THIS CAMPFIRE MEANT TO OFFEND INDEPENDENT WOMEN!!!

A PIC POST AFTERWARDS!

So I've been a VIP author here for several weeks now and I've gotten all my stories uploaded into Storytelling, which has allowed me to make an interesting observation. One story I uploaded was complete when I did it, and I went back recently to check the read count on chapters to see if it was picking up any new readers over here. There was a small but steady-ish number of reads until I got to Chapter 19. Instead of 50 reads a chapter, it has 1245. No lie. Now, there's some stuff that happens in that chapter, so I'm guessing that number is due to people who've read it already and are coming back to read "the good part".

And that leads to my question tonight. How many of you re-visit fics you've already read just to read "the good parts"? Which fics and which chapters?

So, the thread about horrible reviews has me thinking - what ARE reviews for? They certainly aren't a place, IMO, for ads or the like. I'm of the opinion that it's okay to respond to author notes and the story itself in reviews and that it's okay to be honest. Recently I had two people get upset at me because of an honest review of an A/N that, for me, was prejudiced and rude. In no uncertain terms I was told that I was a horrible person and a sorry excuse of a reviewer for having expressed my views.

So what are the review rules that you follow?

I was rereading in Breaking Dawn, the part where Bella turns into a vampire. After Alice shows Bella her new self, she asks  how long her eyes will be red? Edward replies:" They'll darken up in a few months," Edward said in a soft,comforting voice. "Animal blood dilutes the color more quickly than a diet of human blood.  They'll turn amber first, then gold."  (page 403)

ok so I am confused, I thought ONLY a diet of animal blood turns their eyes colors? Red was due to human blood. Maybe I am reading this wrong but can anyone help clarify this for me?

I know BD isn't everyone's fav, but it has its good moments!

I was reading an adorable fic that I thought was called The Exchange Student and I thought the author's name began with a d.  Somehow I have not saved it and now I am completely unable to find it.  Bella is a waitress in a diner, Edward a regular customer, an exchange student from England whose Visa is about to expire.   Has anyone read this?  This is my first Campfire!
