Tell me campers-what's your cut off age? For me, I would only date someone up to 12 years than me. After that, it's "too old" for me. No judgements here-I am just curious as to what your cut-off year gap is for older men.

Howdy campers, well I'm jumping up and down for joy today, my parents gave me my B-day gift (it's my 30th, damn I feel old) and they got me A KINDLE YEAHHHHH, and now here's where I'm stumped... how in the bejezus does this thing work? The fic wife has helped me out some because she has one too, but does anybody know how to get fics on here for free? Can a story be loaded directly from my laptop to my kindle without going through Amazon first? any suggestions in general?

Edward: Edward is an actor in this fic but he's broken, and sweet, and can do one great monster growl. His relationship with Maya is the cutest thing I have ever read.

Bella: This is Bella is strong, she gets put through a lot in this story but always manage to suck it up and put on a happy face for Maya. Her

Maya: Maya is the heart of this story, and the author says she is a real life character so she is written very realistically.

The writing is phenomanal. It's poetic and heart-breaking.

Right now this autor gets 20 or less reviews on each chapter when this story deserves so much more, so I'm beggin give it a chance?

 How do you think vamps and wolves (i.e. Cullens & Wolfpack) would handle situations such as natural disasters?

How do you think the Cullens would go about protecting Bella if she were in one?  (And using Alice doesn't count, lol)

 Would the wolfpack sense something was coming? (As research has often shown a behavioral change in pets, wildlife, etc)

 Would they have to be in wolf form, or sense it in their human form?

What is up with the fandom's obsession with it? It feels like how the Cullens managed to not eat Bella during her time of the month or some other period-related question is being almost constantly asked by the fandom. I understand it's blood so logic might say that this would pose a problem, but it's not blood like the kind that runs through your veins & is all fresh & red & vamps think it's yummeh in their tummehs--it's a waste product from the reproductive cycle that is expelled from a woman's body over the course of app. 5-7 days. And it's not even always red--I've seen it come out brown--& sometimes not quite the same color red as regular blood, if that makes sense. It just doesn't seem like a vampire would consider that alluring.

I'm not trying to bash anyone's curious questions or say that asking the questions is stupid, but they just never occurred to me because it always seemed obvious why a vampire wouldn't want to nom-nom someone b/c of their monthly.

So, why do you believe these questions are so prevalent in the fandom? Is the period issue something that bothers you or do you feel the same as me (or do you possibly have another view)? What sort of PMS-related questions have you heard asked about vampires?

I have spent the last 2 hours looking for a fic and all I have come up with is a major headache.

Here's what I remember: Bella is a teen mom and Renee gives her a really hard time so she moves in with Charlie. Renee didn't let her take any of the baby's stuff with her so Charlie takes her shopping. He also buys her an suv instead of a truck. When she goes grocery shopping everyone is staring and Esme comes to her rescues and tells every one to quit staring. After that the friendship and sleep overs with the Cullens begin. The last thing I remember is Bella walking into the cafeteria and seeing Jessica kissing Edward.

What frustrates me the most is that I am positive that I had this story on alert. So either I am completely overlooking it or its been pulled.

I hate not knowing!  Does anybody know what I am talking about?

To make this less of a useless post, Imma ask you what part you're most looking forward to in the 7 Harry Potter movies. For me, it's the whole Tonks, Lupin and the baby storyline. They are so cute together. And, anyone know where the first part of the movie is going to end?

This is my very first campfire. I’m one of the shyest lurkers you will find out there, so that is kind of a big thing to me (please, don’t laugh). As per usual, I’m overthinking everything, wondering if I’m doing something wrong or completely stupid or both. I swear, I must have written and erased that post a dozen times before deciding to go with it - and as for right now, I'm still not completely sure about that. Somebody please shoot me now ! 

Anyway, I was reading the last update of Expectations and Other Moving Pieces (I can’t believe I flounced this fic the first time I wanted to try to read it. Fortunately, I gave it another try a while later or I would have missed some really good stuff) and the AN got me thinking. Do people seriously ask or even beg for lemons in a fic ? I mean, I love me some lemons as much as the next person, but I would never ask for it. Especially if it’s completely unnecessary and doesn’t bring anything to the story (which is the case most of the time, but that’s not my point).

I’m very pleased that the author has stayed true to what she wanted to write from the start. But IMO, it should have never gotten to the point where she would apologize for not writing what some readers wanted her to write. That’s her story to tell (and she does it really well).

I know some writers ask their readers what they would want to read in the next chapters. As a reader, I’ve never been really comfortable with that because it makes me wonder if the writer knows where she’s going with her story or if she’s going to drag me forever in some non sense. Maybe I’m wrong and she knows perfectly where she wants to bring us, but that’s how it makes me feel.

Anyway, my question is : Has anyone here ever been confronted to this kind of reviews and requests ? If you have, what was your reaction ? Did you insert some specific scene that has been requested by readers (not necessarily a lemon) ? Or did you stick strictly to your outline (if you have one) till the end ? And (last one, I promise) how do you feel about readers requesting some stuff in a fic ? Yeah, that’s a lot of questions right here.

Well, that wasn’t so hard after all. I still feel like this is stupid, but like I said, I overthink everything (and I hope you don’t because that’s exhausting). Thank you for your time and if I may say, even if I’m only mostly a lurker, I’m extremely happy to hang out in this very pleasant forest (where I’ve found some of my all time favorite writers).

I think I need your help with something. Some time ago, I published some non-stories on FF.net and would like to recycle them. They were just parodic lists on the past-times (is that how it's written Oo) of my victims ("15 things X does on his/her free time"). Looking back on these stupid lists I've published, I really feel like deleting but just can't... so I was thinking about recycling them and using the contents of my lists (which are really just ideas and not stories) in real stories. BUT how could I integrate them in stories? Do you have any ideas? I've thought about Emmett on a spying mission, but I need more (I have 3 non-stories that need new lives...)

I'd be really grateful if you helped me.

It doesn't have anything to do with the rest of this post but:How did Bella survive knowing full well that not only Edward but all the Cullens knew each time she had her period? Isn't it mortifying? Bella is worse than me in the "I-don't-want-attention" department, yet I would be dead if it happened to me! Did Edward say anything the first time? And if Jasper jumped on Bella for a single drop of blood, on her period she must smell strongly... Stephenie Meyer completely skipped this topic whereas the subject is often unneededly brought on in other books, TV series or movies... And now I'm curious because of something very stupid...

Hey everyone!! I'd like to start off by saying Happy Easter to anyone who celebrates the holiday. :)

As much as I love Breaking Dawn, I always get annoyed with a few parts of it (Jacob's Point of View, the imprint, the lack of Edward in Part 3.) So I was wondering, has anyone read any good Breaking Dawn AU fanfics? I'd really appriciate it. Thank you :)

Allow me to prelude this post by saying I'm sure much more prolific persons have debated this topic before me, but it's one that I'm genuinely confused by.

Why Edward and Jasper? I really don't get why in Slash pairings, these are the two to do. So to speak. Edward/ Carlisle has its fanbase (not my cup of tea, personally), but there's very little Edward/ Emmett and Edward/ Jacob outside of the ever popular polyamorous threesomes.

The lack of a big Jake presence in Slash Fic does puzzle me; I mean, if you look at Harry Potter fanfic the Harry/ Draco pairing is huge (again, no pun intended). I recently read a fantastic H/D story Says the Magpie to the Morning (Sorrow, Take Your Own Advice) -- I would definitely reccomend it. And there's a good basis for H/D shipping, the line between love and hate has been blurred in popular fiction for centuries. You would think that the constant animosity and tension between Edward and Jacob in the series would have resulted in lots of authors jumping on this bandwagon and using the underlying homoerotic friction to create some great Edward/ Jacob stories. And don't start arguing about it, the whole tent scene in Eclipse was wrought with sexual conflict- and not just between Bella and Jake.

How much do the actors in the movies influence the pairings, do you think? Do we want to see this:

One might think that if the actors were the root of the matter that Edward/ Emmett would be a lot bigger than it is. I love Kellan to death (one of the things on my list of things to do before I die is to see if it's possible to grate cheese on his abs. Then lick them.) but he's a lot more.... heteroflexible than Jackson is. You only need to look at the Calvin Klein ads to see it; I'm pretty sure it's a well known fact that all underwear adverts are designed in part to the spank banks of gay men. And Kellan's not one to shy away from taking his shirt off. Bless him.

Ahem. Back to business... was there one author in particular who started the trend? The first Slash fic I read was The Forbidden Room by DefinitelyStaying *bowing before the mistress of Slash*. I'm so sad that it's gone from fanfiction; I'm over the moon that DStaying got it published (I own a copy!) but the new character names kind of make me sad. Her Edward and Jasper were amazing. I wasn't really part of FF before that came out, so I don't know if that was part of the trend- setting or following one that was already in place.

Please don't get me wrong, I know that wolfpack p0rn has its place and its fanbase and that there are some fantastic stories out there written with other pairings. However if you look at the majority of the nominations in the recent Slash Awards it says a lot; most of the nominations (and winners) were for the big E/J stories. Popularity has spoken!

I will end this longer- than- I- intended post with a request for any really good fics with uncommon pairings. Give me, oh, I don't know, Emmett/ Paul. Or Carlisle/ Charlie. Or Aro/ Sam. Or anything else you can come up with. And any theorising on the above would be great. Happy Sunday everyone!

I was thinking we could get a Passion Party together. Not only do we get to meet and have a good time, but we can have the fun of a Passion Party! I figure NYC would be a good place, my original thought was at my place but having people drive to the middle of nowhere... yea, no. Anyway.
