OMG, I LOVE MY NEW ICON!!

*gulp* -- I am a hardcore ExB shipper, but there is this tiny part of me that is oh-so-curious to read a really good Jacob and Bella love story fanfic. I have to say I was mostly annoyed by Jacob in the books, but Taylor Lautner's performance made me like him in New Moon. Disclaimer: I am still ExB, I am still ExB, I am still ExB.....but, I'm itching for a little 'variety' in my fanfic reads.

Here's what I'd like:

1) Must be AH (all-human)
2) Can be a WIP or completed
3) Well-written (in the sense that the story moves along smoothly)
4) Main focus on Bella and Jacob (don't need a lot of extraneous Quil, Embry, Sam, etc... stuff)
5) Some smut between BxJ (not BDR-level, but something) ;)
6) Must make sense as to why she's not with Edward (ex: he never existed, he really did leave her and never returned, etc...)

*looks around furtively* -- Gah, hope my ExB friends don't see this request. I may be disowned. LOL

Okay campers, can you help a girl out???? Give me some rec's .....

It feels like we spend alot of time talking about what we would change about the books & movies, why we think S. Myer is an epic fail writer, fanfiction cliches we hate--basically alot of negative things about the Twilight Saga & fanfiction. I want to know, which moments in the books do you love? Which scenes from the 2 movies that have came out so far are your faves? When have you seen a fandom cliche used really well (because, let's face it, it's hard to avoid them sometimes)? Is there anything Twi-related (book/movie or fanfic-related) that you're really excited about right now?

I like the prom scene, even though I wish it was a little more like the book, I didn't mind this particular change. Everyone watching Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, & Emmett dance would've felt a little like a bad rendition of Grease (though it seemed more elegant than that written out, you know that's what the screen version would've been like).

I really liked this scene (I also really like this version with funny speech bubbles).

I love this scene. I started bawlin' in the middle of the theatre when I saw it the first time.
I like when Jane (I think it's Jane?) says that Bella has to come see the Volturi, too, & Edward says, "You can go to Hell." I was like, "Whoa." 
 

Fanfiction: I can't wait for Stranger Than Fiction's next update (no pressure if the author's here somewhere, I'm just excited to read it). It's a really amazing fic & I'm just a little worried that Bella won't take Edward back in the end.

Books: I wouldn't change the moment that Bella punches Jacob for kissing her against her will.
I wouldn't change Renesmee. I know alot of people don't like her & consider her an epic plothole, but I just shrug off Meyer's bad science & chalk her conception up to magic. I think she's adorable &, honestly, I would've been a little disappointed if she hadn't been there b/c it never crossed my mind that S. Myer wouldn't make it where Bella got knocked up.
I like the months pages in New Moon (and the way they handled it in the movie). I don't know I would've wanted to read months and months of Bella's angsty heartbreak (although that sounds like, in the right hands, it could be a good fanfic). Plus, something about it is just so hollow & shows how the months just passed by without Bella ever participating in her life during that time.

Life in the very fast lane as Pattinson’s buddy

An actor himself, who’s enjoyed modest success this year with The Boat That Rocked, as well as some hot hype of his own for upcoming Waiting for Forever, Sturridge has been Pattinson’s close personal friend and confidant for the better part of a decade.

Asked by Summit Film execs to shadow Pattinson around the Big Apple to help ease the wound of leaving sometime co-star and paramour Kristen Stewart behind in LA, Sturridge was by Pattinson’s side as friendships bloomed not just with Australian starlet Emilie DeRavin but also with Sturridge’s now-ex girlfriend Camilla Belle.

Sturridge says the relationship between Pattinson and Belle was blurred from day one, when Summit struggled to find an office from which to run the superstar's newborn production company. Sturridge and Belle used internet cafes as makeshift headquarters for Pattinson’s affairs before Belle’s father offered space in a spare room at his Manhattan home.

"We went from using Yahoo! email addresses to running Rob’s new production business while sitting beside Camilla’s parents' swimming pool," Sturridge said. "Camilla would be in her bikini by the pool, Rob would lie in the sun on a mountain of pillows, and I would try to connect to the broadband internet connection."

Sturridge also played wingman at a string of summer soirees, but Pattinson’s idyllic lifestyle was soon interrupted by intense scrutiny from paparazzi and whirlwind visits to New York by Kristen Stewart.

Paparazzi and potential kidnap threats — it was feared the militant vampire rights group called Twi-Moms would target the London-born star — were a constant distraction for Pattinson’s management in New York, and Summit finally turned to Cuban president Fidel Castro's former bodyguard Delfin Fernandez, who had worked for Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz, to head Pattinson’s security detail.

"I looked at Delfin's CV and did the maths," Sturridge said. "Over 20 years service, many assassination attempts on Castro, but zero success. Fernandez was good. Very good. I threw myself into convincing Summit to hire him for Rob."

But the person Fernandez failed to keep away from Pattinson was Belle. Sturridge noticed the couple's relationship had crossed the line from professional to personal after a photo shoot for a sponsor. A celebratory dinner with a group that included a close friend of Kristen Stewart ended at a nightclub where photos were secretly taken of Pattinson and Belle together. The pictures were later purchased “for phenomenal sums” to keep from being published in British newspapers. The group left the nightclub in two separate cars: Pattinson and Belle in one vehicle driven by Fernandez and another carrying Sturridge and the rest.

Sturridge recalls that Fernandez called him on a walkie-talkie with a message: "The Spider has the Eagle in her web."

Sturridge says he will never forget the words Kristen used to explain how his balls would be removed if he ever let Belle near Pattinson again after that night. "Tom, we all have bills to pay and roles to play," the actress said. "You can be that guy in the background of all the photos of Rob, or you can become Tom Sturridge. My choice."

i'm on chapter 20 and in love with just about everything. i don't think anything could make me flounce at this point.

but.

a couple of chapters back, it was revealed that edward has a piercing in... his most delicate of places.

and i think piercings are hot. like relly, relly hot. but the thought of that kind of piercing on him really freaked me out.

anyway.

has there ever been a certain aspect in a fic you've read that you've chosen to ignore? you love the fic so much that you'll just pretend that little thing hasn't happened or isn't there?

do tell.

I'm jealous.

I'm jealous of newcomers in this fandom who are not disillusioned yet and who can enjoy every AH fic they come across because it's all new and shiny and amazing and they can think "oh! what a good idea to make Edward a manwhore! It's so refreshing, it's a nice change from the Edward in the books! And oh! Kings of Leon in a fic, yay! Ooooh Alice and Rosalie playing Bella Barbie and forcing her to go to parties... Well, it seems a bit extreme, but it's obviously a plot device, so I'm not too bothered by it! Let me just go on my merry way to happyficland and enjoy everything I read!"

Okay, maybe they don't really think that and I'm just bitter. Whatever.

I'm jealous of people who haven't read the awesome that is this, this or this yet because when they do get to read it for the first time, I'll be stuck re-reading it and already knowing what's going on (not that I don't like doing that, but come on... It's always better when you have no idea what is going to happen. At least, that's what I think)

For the same reason, I'm extremely jealous of people who haven't read Harry Potter (not that there's a lot of you out there), Twilight, the Hunger Games, who haven't watched Veronica Mars, the Matrix (only the first two) and who haven't listened to the soundtrack of Requiem for a Dream or anything by Muse or Linkin Park (don't flame me. I swear, I was a fan before SM said she liked them)

I'm jealous of girls who can eat their weight of food without gaining a pound, of rich people (I know, I know, money doesn't equal happiness. It doesn't mean a little more of it would hurt), of Kristen Stewart and Emilie de Ravin because they got to kiss Rob (I KNOW, I'm pathetic), of my neighboor who makes better cookies than me, of my cat who gets to sit on his ass and yawn all day long without a care in the world, of people with green eyes, of my best friend....

The list goes on and on, but I'll spare ya.

So, this was just me ranting and this campfire has no purpose whatsoever but since this is a community I feel compeled to ask something tell me campers.

The writer doesn't update often but totally worth the wait when she does.
