I will go first

I am an only child. No-I am not lonely. I grew up with many cousins and friends. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything because there was always lots of people around and I was always told that I was a great sharer.

If I could have any famous person as a sibling, I would choose:

If she was my sister, I would have BURNED Breaking Dawn and she would have thanked me for it.

Okay, so I began reading a story on FF that seemed interesting until Bella thought she'd sneak in a line of coke - and acted as normal is if she was thinking about what to get at the grocery store.  It kind of turned me off ...not really the Bella character that interests me.  I'm not posting this to cast down judgement on anyone, rather I'd like to see your opinions on explicit illegal drug use in the fandom.

How do you feel reading about Bella rolling up a hundred dollar bill to snort her line? 

What about Edward or any of the other characters? 

I just read this absolutely beautiful, heartrending story by DefinitelyStaying, entitled Rights of the Fallen.

It's for the Kill a Cullen contest, and deals with the inequities and borderline-disenfranchisement faced by the LGBT community. It's heartbreaking and you'll need a box of tissues for sure-- but it's a real wake up call as to the blatant bigotry of some people.

So in honor of this gorgeous story, I'm looking for slash or femslash. And not PWP smut, but the softer side of it, that shows that the love between a man and a man or a woman and a woman can be just as beautiful, powerful, and all-compassing as that between a man and a woman.

ok so the first fic i think was like a one or two shot on fan fic, bella and edward meet in hospital because charlies sick and edwards wife tanya is dying, bella helps to save tanya when charlie dies and then bella leaves edward and tanya to be even though shes in love with edward

the second fic was like a short story also on fan fic, where edward dies and bella can see him, they fall in love and bella tries to bring him back taking lead from an old  native american story

so yeah, if you could help me out here i'm going crazy

I just posted the first chapter of my new story (I'm not pimping). In short: Bella is plump and it's going to be the story of her relationship with Edward. I just got these reviews:

EDIT bis: I'm editing the size according to your advice so no overidentifying and the summary (who might be construed as a little offensive). But that's it. The new story will be up tomorrow. Off to bed now, it's already 02H46am here.

I have to rant for a moment.

I began reading a story. I will not state names. In this story many chapters end with cliffhangers or a big jawdropping reveal(at least they think so). This keeps going and going. That's not necesssarily a bad thing. Each authors note says things like "don't kill me. . .ha ha ha" or "I'm so sorry to do this to you" or possibly the most irritating "runs to hide". It's like someone telling you they screwed your boyfriend, then patting you on the back, telling you "you'll be okay". Maybe that's overstating it, but you get the point.

This behavior strikes me as patronizing. I think that some authors feel a strong sense of power over their readers. They get a lot of reviews, people raving and gushing. Then with the damn authors notes, the "ha ha" or the "don't hate me". Then the absurd cliffhangers start. It feels like the author is flexing and testing, to see how much power he/she has over the reader. This makes me rage. I don't want a huge authors note apologizing for something they are not sorry for. It's truly ridiculous. Just write the damn story already! Quit with the platitudes that are completely meaningless, while still doing the very things you're apologizing for. Big reveals and cliffhangers, those have a place in stories, of course. I just feel that sometimes it gets out of hand, out of context within the story. False. The writer gets too caught up with the readers reactions. Dragging things out, making the reader beg for the ineveitable. I'm completely fine when a writer brings forth a story with all these crazy twists and turns. It's the right of the author to tell the story however they choose. I can defect if I don't like it. I just want truth. I want to read stories from authors with integrity. Integrity enough to not be swayed by reviews or a misguided sense of power.

As a reader, I feel there is a great deal of trust in the author to reader relationship. I believe it's quite brave to put your words and art into the world in this manner. I think of it as you trusting us readers with a little bit of yourselves. Regardless of the tone of the story, I take this seriously. That's not to say that I don't have fun. Of course I do! I just don't like to be f****d with.

Anyone get what I'm saying? Am I off base here?

I found this site yesterday: 3daynovel.com. It's exactly as it sounds; a contest to write a novel in 72 hours (that is, if you don't sleep). It takes place Labour Day Weekend every year. And I'm totally going for it, because I can never commit to writing a novel, and this will make me get some stuff down. Besides, the winner gets a publishing contract (not that I have any chance, but I can dream...)

Would you be interested in doing this?

I just don't understand!  Why does the fanfic; ' Irritable Grizzly Adams', one of the most beautifully E/B stories out there only have 3000 reviews, but the never, never, never ending, plotless 'Master of the Universe' have ten times as many? Is it just the sex?
